How India chased down 257 with ease

India’s chase got off to a flying start as Rohit Sharma took advantage of two free-hits in the first over and smashed 16 runs off Hasan Mahmud. He continued his aggressive approach and hit seven fours and two sixes in his 40-ball 48 before he was caught by Towhid Hridoy off the same bowler.

Bangladesh opted to bat first after winning the toss and got off to a good start as Tanzid Hasan and Litton Das put on 97 runs for the opening wicket. Tanzid was the aggressor as he hit five fours and three sixes in his 43-ball 51 before he was trapped lbw by Kuldeep Yadav.

Das anchored the innings and scored a fluent 66 off 82 balls with seven fours. He added 31 runs with Najmul Hossain Shanto, who was lbw by Ravindra Jadeja for eight.

Mehidy Hasan Miraz came in at number four and scored only three runs before he was caught behind by KL Rahul off Mohammed Siraj.

Towhid Hridoy struggled to get going and scored 16 off 35 balls before he was caught by Gill off Shardul Thakur.

Mushfiqur Rahim and Mahmudullah then added some impetus to the innings with a 72-run stand for the sixth wicket. Rahim hit one four and one six in his 38 off 46 balls while Mahmudullah smashed three fours and three sixes in his 46 off 36 balls.

Rahim was dismissed by Jasprit Bumrah in the 47th over while Mahmudullah was bowled by him in the final over.

Nasum Ahmed scored a quickfire 14 off 18 balls before he was caught by Rahul off Siraj.

Shoriful Islam hit a six off the last ball to finish with seven not out off three balls.

Bumrah, Siraj and Jadeja finished with two wickets each while Kuldeep and Thakur took one each.
